The primary research area of the Rice Space Plasma Simulation Group is the understanding the Large Scale structure of magnetospheres, specifically focussing on the Earth’s inner magnetosphere and the ring current.
Current projects:
- Development of the next generation coupled magnetosphere model MAGE as part of the Center for Geospace Storms
- Physics of buoyancy waves in the magnetosphere
- Physics of bursty bulk flows and interchange using the Rice Convection Model – Inertial (RCM-I)
- 3D movie courtesy of Sina Sadeghzadeh at sustech
- Star-Exoplanet modeling
